Happy Saturday, friends! I’m so excited about today’s blog post because I’m talking about something I’m so passionate about and something I am constantly getting questions from y’all about – fitness! If you’ve been following me for a while or even if you’re new to the blog, you know that living an active, healthy lifestyle is something that’s so important to Michael and me (and has become even MORE important since finding out we’re expecting!). I feel like one of the biggest obstacles to staying active is how to keep yourself motivated, so today I wanted to share three of my tips to help motivate you + a must-have product for your fitness journey!
1. Make it purposeful by finding your why
Any time I’m setting any sort of goal or tackling a new project, it’s so important for me to really identify the purpose behind it. So for fitness, what’s your reasoning for becoming and staying active? Maybe you’re wanting to have more energy or maybe you’re working out to help with anxiety/insecurities, or maybe you’re going to be in a wedding soon and you want to look your best for the big day. Whatever the reason may be, I encourage you to really press into that and figure out why you want to be active. It’s a lot easier to stay motivated when you see it as meaningful and purposeful. 2. Make a plan and find accountability
There are truly so many ways to become active and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Look for opportunities throughout your day to implement this. It can be something as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or using your lunch break to get in a quick walk. Little habits like this can help make an active lifestyle more attainable. Everyone’s fitness plan and way to becoming active will look different, and that’s totally ok! It could be walks, runs, spin classes, kickboxing, etc. It just depends on what’s feasible for your lifestyle (work hours, budget, other commitments, etc) and what your personal goals are. I encourage you to set up some sort of plan or goal and then find someone who will help hold you accountable to that. I am a firm believer that having a workout buddy can make a WORLD of a difference!
3. Make sure you have the gear you need to succeedPIN IT
It’s a lot harder to make excuses when you have everything sitting right in front of you. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m SO motivated by fun, new products. Whether it’s a workout tank from one of my favorite brands or deodorant I know won’t disappoint me during my workouts, I am way more motivate to stay active if I know I have everything I need to make it happen. So if you want to do at-home workouts, make sure you have the right weights or equipment (resistance bands, bench, etc) to complete the workout. If you know you’re going to sweat, make sure you’ve got a good headband and quality antiperspirant. The goal here is to remove all barriers to your goal and to get you excited about staying active + fit!
For today’s post, I wanted to focus a little more on the ‘gear’ art of staying active, because I know that’s been so important for me every day. One of my favorite things that supports an active lifestyle is Secret Active Deodorant. Y’all know I never recommend anything unless I legit love it and use it regularly, and this is one of those products. It’s amazing and SO reliable! One thing I love about it is that it’s literally designed to work BETTER the more you sweat (not the opposite!). So it just encourages and supports you to maintain an active, fit lifestyle even more. It’s perfect for casual, everyday movement but can also handle the intensity of a fitness class or HIIT workout. I wear it every day and it never disappoints!
I also want to include one “bonus tip” for staying active and it’s this: always, always show yourself grace. There will be days when you aren’t moving around as much as you’d hoped to be or when you just need rest, and that’s ok! Listen to your body and show yourself grace. Even on the slower days, Secret Active Deodorant is my go-to for a fresh antiperspirant! Head over to CVS Pharmacy to try it out yourself!
