sleep number mattress review

About 6 months ago, Michael and I got a new bed that has been a total game changer for us. I’ve had sleep issues for years now and this bed has helped tremendously with that! Anytime we travel, I’m always so excited to come back and sleep in my bed because it is amazing. I’m super excited to do a Sleep Number review for y’all today because SO many of you have requested this post!

Before we got our mattress, Michael and I went into a Sleep Number store (some of you might remember seeing our experience on my IG stories!). We knew nothing about Sleep Number going into this, and the salesperson in the store was so helpful. We went into the store to learn about the mattresses, and also figure out what our Sleep Number setting is! Essentially, you lay down on a Sleep Number mattress in the store and see how the bed adjusts to you – relieving all of your pressure points. It was such a cool experience seeing where my pressure points were up by my shoulders and lower back (Michael’s were in his lower back), and then seeing how the bed adjusts to that, to make you as comfortable as possible. It helps align your spine! We figured out my ideal Sleep Number setting is 35 and Michael’s is 50. (These numbers are the firmness/softness of the mattress).

One of our favorite things about the Sleep Number bed is that it’s completely dual-sided – so I control my side, Michael controls his side. We have two different Sleep Number settings because our bodies hold tension in different spots. Not only can you have two different Sleep Numbers on one mattress…but you can also choose to raise one side of the bed and not the other. For example, I can have my side of the bed in the “read” position, with my head elevated, while Michael is laying flat! I also like to sleep with my head slightly elevated, and Michael likes to sleep completely flat.

The Sleep Number mattress has SO many features and functions. You can adjust the firmness and softness (ie: I don’t always have to have my sleep number at 35 if I don’t want to), you can raise the head and/or feet, and we also have a foot warmer with our mattress which I love! You can put it on a timer to where the foot warmer is only on for 30mins (typically until you fall asleep) and then it turns off. One of my favorite features of the bed! Apparently if your feet are warm, it can help you fall asleep faster!

You also have the ability to control your partner’s side. So, if your partner snores, you can actually use the remote, or your phone (we have the SleepIQ® app on our phones), to put them in the “snore” position which will slightly raise their head! This is supposed to lessen / stop snoring.

Another one of my favorite features of this bed is that it tracks your sleep and gives you all of your stats and data. SleepIQ® technology inside the bed tracks how well you sleep each night. In the morning, you and your partner learn how the Sleep Number bed is adjusting to your individual comfort and the amazing effects the bed has on your sleep quality. (It’s called your SleepIQ® score!). It measures everything from the times you were restless to your average heartrate and more!

I’ve noticed a tremendous improvement in my sleep since we got our Sleep Number mattress. The bed is seriously so comfortable and we love + use every single feature that it offers! So if you’re in the market for a new bed, I highly recommend checking out a Sleep Number store! We’ve had an amazing experience so far and I’m sure you will love it as much as we have!
