if you follow me on instagram you probably already know that we took a family vacation last week to Finest Playa Mujeres Resort and had the BEST time. We’ve been to a bunch of different resorts and hotels in Mexico that we love, but Finest is our favorite to go to with kids. This was actually our third time to vacation at finest and hands down our favorite trip! i got so many DM’s from you guys while we were there asking about the kid’s club, food, where to fly into, outfits etc. so today i wanted to share an updated review of this resort, pro tips, what we love about it, and more!
The best part is, Finest Resort gave me a special promo code for you guys – FINESTTRIP – you can use when you click this link!

where to fly into
we flew direct from dallas into cancun to get to finest. the drive from the airport is anywhere from 40mins – 1hr depending on traffic. we had a private car take us from the airport to the hotel and arranged this beforehand through finest. it was super easy and felt very safe. (you can also request a car seat if you’re traveling with kiddos!)
types of rooms + suites
this was the first time we got a suite at finest, where shiloh had her own room and i cannot recommend this enough. idk about you guys but i can NOT sleep if shiloh’s in the same room as us haha (and she usually doesn’t sleep well either). we stayed in a finest club swimup suite and it was perfect. shiloh could swim right off of our room in the mornings, had her own bed to sleep in at night, and the room was very spacious.
when you go to finest you can either stay in the regular rooms or upgrade and do ‘finest club’ which is what we did and i loved it. there are a lot of perks to doing club – you have access to a few more restaurants than everyone else, your room is a little nicer, you have access to a private spot on the beach for club members only, and more! it’s definitely not necessary to have a great trip at finest but i think it’s worth the upgrade!
kids club + activities
the finest playa mujeres resort kid’s club and all of the activities they had for shiloh was definitely our favorite part of this trip! if your kid is 3 or older you can drop them off at the kid’s club for free (included in your stay) during the day or at night if you wanna enjoy some mom & dad time! and shiloh LOVED the kid’s club!
there was a water park with tons of slides, they feed them lunch there, she loved playing with the other kids, and they also had indoor activities and crafts for them! we’d drop her off for like 2hrs during the day so we could just enjoy the beach by ourselves but when we went to pick her up…she wasn’t ready to leave! she had SO much fun and the women who worked there were amazing with kids + so good with shiloh!
we used kid’s club at night as well on two different nights so michael and i could have date night dinners and shiloh LOVED it. they fed them dinner and then they always had some type of fun activity or theatre show planned for them! she was never ready to leave when we came to pick her up!
i think this is SUCH an amazing offering that finest has and the best way to vacation. you still get to hang out with and play with your kid but also have some alone time, while your kid is having a BLAST at kids club. truly best of both worlds! i think because of the kids club…we all wished the trip was a few days longer!
outside of kid’s club…finest had so many other really fun activities for kids. they even have an “imagine lounge” daycare for younger kids, and are stocked with all the necessary supplies you need to bring a baby so you don’t have to pack everything. the first night we were there they had a “glow jungle” party with amazing food, face painting + games for the kids, manicure station, live music, dancing…we all had so much fun! on our last night there was a mexican fiesta with similar activities! shiloh truly had the time of her life!
the food, drinks + restaurants
okay not gonna lie…usually the food at all inclusive resorts leaves a lot to be desired haha but the food at finest is SO good! they have tons of different restaurant options whether you’re wanting mexican, steak, seafood, sushi, italian etc! we ate at shoji one night and had an INCREDIBLE asian / sushi dinner, and the other night we ate at duke’s lobster house and had a surf & turf dinner of my dreams.
the other two nights we went to their special parties and ate there. everything we had was so good! for lunch we ordered quesadillas by the pool and loved them so much the first day, we ended up doing that everyday haha.
the service
the service at finest resorts is amazing. you’ll never find yourself having to search for someone to help you – there are so many incredible finest employees walking around all the time always asking if you need anything, ready to take your order, get you another drink etc. the team at finest really went above and beyond to make our trip so special and so easy.
to be honest since we’ve been home…shiloh has already cried 3x since we’ve been home saying she wants to go back to mexico! haha we had SUCH a great time that i’m really hoping we make this an annual family vacation! let me know if you have any other questions about the resort in the comments below!
