Michael, Shiloh and I were supposed to be leaving to go to the beach today but ended up pushing our trip back a few weeks so my parents could join us! We are so excited for some family time on the beach and always love our beach trips together! Today I wanted to round up some of our favorite beach trips / resorts we’ve visited – both for a romantic getaway and family friendly results as well!
ADULTS ONLY RESORTS
Las Ventanas Al Paraiso
This is the most recent vacation Michael and I took back in March and it was MAGICAL. Las Ventanas is in Cabo and it’s one of the only non-all-inclusive resorts we’ve been to (we love a good all-inclusive). This resort is definitely a splurge but it is luxury at its finest. I do think Las Ventanas allows kids but I’m putting it in ‘adults only’ because we went without Shiloh and I honestly can’t imagine bringing kids here because it’s pricy haha.
The service and the food at Las Ventanas cannot be beat. The grounds are beautiful. Every restaurant we ate at went above and beyond our expectations. It was romantic, quiet…everything we wanted for a romantic get away. Hoping to maybe book another trip back here for our 10 year anniversary or another special occasion like that!
Pueblo Bonito Pacifica
We have been to Pueblo Bonito 4 different times haha so it’s safe to say it’s one of our all time favorite beach resorts. PB is also in Cabo and it’s an all-inclusive resort. Before you eye roll at the words all-inclusive, the food and drinks here are SO DANG GOOD. I would honestly never guess in a million years that i was an all-inclusive because all of their restaurants are phenomenal.
I won’t go into too much detail about why this resort is so amazing because I’ve actually done a few blog post reviews on Pueblo Bonito (here and here) that’s how much I love it haha. So check those posts out if you want more detail!
Excellence Playa Mujeres
Excellence is another adults only all-inclusive (this location specifically is in Playa Mujeres) that we love! Excellence is one of those resorts that we know will always be a ‘safe bet’ if we want a beach getaway. The food is good, the service is good, the environment is fun. IMO, the food at Pueblo Bonito is slightly better than Excellence but if I remember correctly, Excellence has more options. We’ve been to Excellence twice and had a great experience both times! I also have TONS of friends that went here on their honeymoon! (I did a blog post review about Excellence a few years ago if you want to check that out).

El Dorado Maroma
We went to El Dorado Maroma last year around Christmas time and LOVED IT. We are creatures of habit when it comes to all-inclusive Mexico resorts but decided to branch out and try something new because my sister and her husband have been raving about this place for years. We stayed in one of their over water bungalows and it was such a luxurious + special experience! The food here was possibly the best at any all-inclusive we’ve ever stayed at. The service was great, and we loved how quiet + peaceful this resort was. I definitely want to plan another trip back here!!

Finest Playa Mujeres
Finest is the sister resort to Excellence – they are nearly the same resort except Finest is family-friendly and Excellence is adults only. We’ve taken Shiloh to Finest two times and had a BLAST & a great experience both trips. We want to bring her back now that she’s a little bit older to enjoy the kid activities! The rooms at Finest are so nice, they will accommodate babies with cribs, bottle warmer, sound machine etc which was a nice touch. The resort is all-inclusive and the food is pretty good! It wasn’t like 10/10 but I love the convenience of all-inclusive, especially when you have kids with you.
The Cape Hotel
We’ve only stayed at the Cape Hotel in Cabo one time and it was before we had Shiloh. But I remember seeing families with kids there! I want to go back to the Cape SO BADLY. The grounds + hotel design are STUNNING (like all the house inspo) and the food was unbelievably delicious + fresh. The Cape is not all inclusive but the food was seriously so amazing that you won’t ever need to leave the resort to go elsewhere. We went back in like 2015 so I don’t remember all the details about it but I definitely want to go back because both Michael and i loved it. The room was beautiful, everything felt so luxurious, and the trip was so relaxing.
Paradisus Cancun
Paradisus is another all-inclusive we love in Mexico. This resort felt bigger to me than Excellence – more pool + restaurant options & everything felt a bit more spread out. If I remember correctly the prices at Paradisus were slightly more reasonable than Finest and we had such a fun time! I went on this trip with my mom & sisters & their babies and we had a blast! The food here was also delicious.
