After I did this post on my workout routine, you guys have been giving me so many great ideas on other fitness posts you’d like to see! (Keep the ideas coming!) Today I wanted to share with y’all 3 simple tips for a healthier lifestyle!

Tip #1: Drink more water
You’ve probably heard it a thousand times, but drinking more water and staying hydrated is SO important. It helps tremendously with your skin, keeps you feeling fuller longer, helps with digestion, and so much more. Personally, I’ve always struggled with drinking water. I just don’t typically prefer water with my meals. Drinking fruit infused water though has made a tremendous difference for me! It just makes drinking water more fun (and tasty!) There are also health benefits to adding things to your water, like lemon for instance, is great for your metabolism. I LOVE this little infuse filtered water bottle by bobble. It’s super easy to use and I love that you can have your fruit infused water on the go. My favorite infused water combination is strawberry, cucumber, and mint!
Tip #2: Choose to be active
White v-neck tee | blue palm print leggings | blue palm print sports bra | APL sneakers | aviator sunglasses | white insulated water bottle
I think working out is extremely important (obviously), but equally as important as going to the gym is just living an active lifestyle. I don’t work out every single day, but I definitely try and do something active everyday! Try and add activities into your day that get you outside or get you moving for at least 20-30 minutes. I absolutely love taking Beau for walks around our neighborhood. Or next time you’re getting together with a friend, suggest going for a walk while y’all talk and catch up! Or sometimes when Michael gets home from work I love chatting about our days while we walk around the neighborhood together.
And make sure you’re staying hydrated while staying active – especially in this Texas heat! This stainless steel water bottle above is the perfect size to travel with, take in your car, and super easy to carry on walks. It’s also dishwasher safe and keeps your water cold for up to 24hrs!
Tip #3: Don’t live in the extremes – life is about moderation
I know how tempting it can be to try the fad diets, especially if you have some event or trip coming up that you want to look and feel your best for. But, can I just say…don’t do it. Crash diets NEVER work and are so bad for your body. Several of you have asked me to do a post on what my meals/snacks look like each day, and I think you might be surprised! I definitely try and eat healthy most of the time, but last night Michael and I went to Chuy’s happy hour for queso and yummy Tex-Mex. I probably have dessert 5 nights a week. You can’t live in the extremes. If you deprive your body of sweets completely or cut out an entire food group (i.e. saying “i’m not going to eat carbs”), you will at some point end up swinging to the opposite extreme and way overeating (in my experience). So, live in moderation! Eat healthy and be active, but allow yourself a treat on occasion. Resist the urge or desire for a “quick fix” with some fad diet, because in the long run, it won’t work and it’s not healthy for your body.
