As most of y’all know, Michael and I moved to Boulder for him to go back to school for an MBA. He’s doing the evening program so 2 nights out of the week, he’s at class for about 4 hours…meaning, I have the house to myself and a totally open night! I don’t do the same thing every class night, but today I wanted to share with y’all one of my favorite ways to unwind and have my own girls night at home.
After I finish up my work for the day, I make a conscious choice to not open my computer for the rest of the evening. Then I either cook a simple dinner or pick something up to bring home. (I’m currently obsessed with making shrimp salads at home!)
After dinner I’ll typically do one of my favorite face masques and turn on a show (that Michael doesn’t like haha). We are still watching Bloodline together so for my ‘girls night’, I either watch Hart of Dixie (don’t judge) or Gilmore Girls! I know, I know. There are so many better/newer shows on that I could pick from. But I love how simple / nostalgic these shows are.
And of course, no girls night is complete without wine and cheese! I talked about these Wholey Cheese! crackers on insta stories a few weeks back so some of you already know how obsessed I am with them. I love pouring myself a glass of vino and enjoying it with these gluten free, Smoked Gouda crackers. Wholey Cheese! crackers are the perfect snack because the flavor is amazing, but they are baked and a much smarter choice than something fried or filled with preservatives! These crackers also come in Mild Cheese and Swiss & Black Pepper, but the Smoked Gouda is definitely my favorite!
Y’all know I’m typically more of a sweet person rather than salty…but I got hooked on these crackers the second I tried them. As you can see in the photos, the form is crispy and light, puffed and airy. The texture is flaky and holey, which makes it feel artisanal and more upscale!
A yummy dinner, face masques, my favorite shows, and Wholey Cheese! crackers with a glass of wine…definitely a recipe for the perfect girls’ night – by yourself or with friends!
